PM² Foundation Course

The PM² course provides a solid theoretical foundation and guidelines on the practical application of project management processes, tools and techniques.

This unique course is particularly relevant for those organizations and people involved in international collaborative EU-funded projects, for those willing to apply for EU grants or any organisation interested in adopting a lean and efficient project management methodology.

This course is based on the official Certified PM² Foundation exam by the PM² Group, and meets the exact standards and requirements of the Centre of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²) of the European Commission.

Following the completion of the course participants should be able to:

  • Make effective use of PM² for the management of projects
  • Understand the implementation of core project management processes
  • Effectively use the PM² Artefacts for initiating, define the scope of a project and understand how to manage it
  • Understand key project planning tools and techniques
  • Understand project scheduling and estimating, including Gantt Charts and network diagrams
  • Understand project budgeting and cost management.

The PM² Foundation certification is aimed at project managers and aspiring project managers. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including project board members (e.g. senior responsible owners), team managers (e.g. product delivery managers), project assurance (e.g. business change analysts), project support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel), and operational line managers/staff.

The certification exam is executed by Van Haren Learning Solutions

It is desirable, but not essential, that participants have some work-experience on projects. Some pre-read material is provided prior to the training and is expected to be fully read before attending the course.

  • PM² Foundation Material

The material includes the Certified PM² Foundation by PM² Group Courseware, the PM² project management methodology Guide, a sample paper.
