ITIL Direct Plan and Improve Course

The ITIL® Direct Plan and Improve module provides IT professionals and leaders with the ability to use ITIL methods in their overall IT strategy. The ITIL Direct, Plan and Improve module helps creating an evolving IT organisation with a strong and effective strategic direction. It demonstrates a clear alignment between strategy and operations and gives tools to maximise outcomes.

The training provides ITIL practitioners with a practical and strategic method for planning and delivering continual improvement combined with the necessary agility.

The module equips candidates with the skills to control, influence and inspire others to work in a desired way and create effective, high performing IT and digital teams.

The ITIL Direct, Plan and Improve qualification is a universal module: it’s one of the prerequisites for both the ITIL 4 Managing Professional and ITIL 4 Strategic Leader Streams.

Following the completion of the course participants should be able to:

  • Understand the key concepts of Direct, Plan & Improve
  • Understand the scope of what is to be directed and/or planned. Know how to use key principles and methods of direction and planning
  • Understand the role of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and know how to integrate the principles and methods into the service value system
  • Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of continual improvement for all types of improvements
  • Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of communication and organisational change management to direction, planning and improvement
  • Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of measurement and reporting in direction, planning and improvement
  • Understand and know how to direct, plan and improve value streams and practices
  • Pass the ITIL Direct, Plan and Improve exam
  • Individuals continuing their journey in Service Management
  • ITSM Managers and aspiring ITSM Managers
  • managers of all levels involved in shaping direction and strategy or developing a continually improving team
  • Existing ITIL qualification holders wishing to develop their knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the exam and following confirmation of the results, the participants will receive a unique, secure and auditable electronic certificate from PeopleCert.

The ITIL 4 Foundation certification is mandatory to access the further ITIL 4 modules which require candidates’ ability to apply the ITIL framework key concepts in a working environment.

It is desirable, but not essential, that participants have some experience in IT Service management. Some pre-read material is provided prior to the training and is expected to be fully read before attending the course. A good knowledge of English is mandatory.

The candidate must have passed the ITIL 4 Foundation examination. In addition, the candidate must have attended an accredited training course for this module.
